The AIR MIXING System - Design your plant
TECHNICAL DATA for dimensioning
The number and the diameter of the AIR MIXING diffusers are established according to the specific features of the plant and of the room where it is placed.
Check the heating capacity and the air flow rate required and establish the number of AIR MIXING diffusers needed in each room, bearing in mind the following:
• The AIR MIXING diffuser covers an areaof air distribution of 10 metres per side, so two or more diffusers can be installed every 20 metres, aside from their length and height of installation.
• The AIR MIXING system is mainly an airdistribution system, so it is important toremove any kind of obstacle that could hinderthe assembly..
You could be in need of TEE bends, diameterreduction (table A) or eventual accessories in theAIR MIXING wide range of products (Joints).
Establish the diameter of the AIR MIXING diffusers using the simplified calculation graphs
Once defined the number of diffusers, their shape and diameter are selected thanks to the tables with the simplified selection graphs and airflow rate per linear meter selection tables, that are available for circular, semi-circular and quarter of acircle diffusers.
In the graphs for the diameter selection, for each diameter it is showed the maximal air flow rate allowed in function of the height of installation.
The selection tables are divided into four sectionsin function of the heights of installation, of the sta-tic pressure available to be provided at the begin-ning of the AIR MIXING Diffusers.
The length of the diffusers comes out from the sum of the lengths measured on the wheelbase of each stroke of diffuser with the same diameter..
The dimensioning of each diffuser is calculated summing up the lengths of every stroke having the same diameter, then adding the special pieces (like bends, T junctions, reduction of diameter) eventually included in the supply, and at last choosing the fixing system (cable, aluminum profile, ball bearing trolleys, etc.).
As last step, it is necessary to verify that the air flow rate per linear meter meets the values showed in the tables for the selection of the air flow rate. In order to verify it, it is necessary to divide the air flow rate of each diffuser for its length and check the value in the tables in function of its shape (circular, semi circular or quarter of a circle) in function of the possibility to distribute the air through a large number of holes on a arch of circumference of 90°, 180°, 360°, following the following criteria:
1. in the middle of the room installed at the roof,
Distribution on 90°, 180°
2. in the middle of the room installed at different heights,
Distribution on 90°, 180° e 360°
3. on the side wall installed at the roof,
4. on the side wall installed at different heights,
1. in cooling and refrigerating applications,
Distribution on 90°, 180°e 360°;
Distribution on 90°, 180° ;
3. in heating and cooling applications,
Distribution on 90°, 180°
4. in heating and cooling applications with supply temperature under 30°C and only for rooms withheights under 4 m,
Distribution on 90°, 180°e 360°;
5. in ventilation applications as well as in the evaporative cooling applications,
Distribution on 90°, 180.
In the tables for the selection of the linear air flow rate, it is indicated the maximal air flow rate allowed for each linear meter in order to meet the term of the AIR MIXING warranty to obtain the performancesin the room.

Other eventual alternative actions to be provided in order to get back in the correct selection of the air flow rate per linear meter:
• Increase the height of installation
• Increase the length of the diffusers
• Change the position of the duct in the room
It is possible to select diffusers with air flow rate per linear meter, or diameters or static pressures or heights of installation different from the ones given by the AIR MIXING design criteria; in this case it is possible to obtain compromise performances and it is not possible to get all the AIR MIXING system performances at the same time.
For any further requirements, our technical service office is available to give all the support necessary and to give advise on the selection of an out of standard application and to give estimations of theperformances obtainable.

Height of diffusers when not working (mm).
The positioning of the AIR MIXING duct depends on the structure of the building where it must be placed, as well as obstacles like trusses, beams, intermediate floors, assembly line, ducts, chimneys, lamps, etc..
Check the height of the AIR MIXING diffuser when not working. If it is not compatible with the room structure, proceed with a further scaling using the simplified calculation table to further split up the air flow rate, increasing the number of diffusers and decreasing their diameter and their compactness.

ESTIMATE OF WEIGHTS AND PACKAGES
FORTHETRANSPORTOF AIR MIXING DIFFUSERS
Weights expressed in g per linear meter
AIR MIXING diffusers are shipped in cardboard cartons on wooden pallets
All the accessories for assembly and for the anchorage systems are in special bags that are placed in the cartons together with the diffusers; in the case of supporting systems with galvanised steel or stainless steel cables, the cable reels are also placed inside the cartons.
The aluminium tracks, however, are sent separately, packaged in covered bands 3 m high, in a variable number according to the quantity of the tracks themselves..
The estimated weight of the shipment can be calculated using the tables M ÷U, multiplying the length in metres of the diffusers with the same diameter by the weight per linear meter, according to the shape (circular, semi- and quarter-circular) and the type of anchorage (with cables, with accessories for tracks, with accessories for carriages with ball bearings).
To the resulting weight, the following must be added:
• 10 kg every 100 kg of diffusers, to account for the weight of the packaging,
• he weight of the tracks, if included in the sup-ply, calculated according to Table V.
For special packaging (wooden crates, etc.), esti-mation on request.
The AIR MIXING distribution system is flexible and thanks to the tailor-made holes it is always possible to distribute air with the same effectivenessa nd in every condition. Always enclose a drawing (T_W) in your order, underlining eventual particular requirements or problems of installation.

To complete the necessary information for the project of the patented AIR MIXING piercing, the following general data concerning the plant arerequired::
• Description and technical characteristics of the air treatment unit (generator, air-heater, heat pump ecc.)
• Characteristics of the building structure
• Type of activity exerted in the room
Put the AIR MIXING diffuser under pressure gradually every time you start it.
You’d better have a system for the introduction of air in the AIR MIXING diffusers, made of a damper with opposed fins and an electric servocontrol that opens in 120 seconds, working in parallel with fans of the air treatement units DW1.
The Timed installation of the system is compulsory, for all the AIR MIXING diffusers of any length or diameters.
The system, available in a kit for the assembly with an electric panel. can be positioned:
On the delivery outlet, or on the air recovery area of the air treatment units (heat generators, air treatment centres, etc.). You will just need one single servo controlled damper for more than one AIR MIXING diffusers DW2 e DW3
On the joint duct of the AIR MIXING diffusers, using one single servo controlled damper for each diffuser, exploiting the opportunity of a calibration and of a balancing of all the distribution system DW 4.
